Artist Biography

Gertruda is a textile student studying at the Vilnius Academy of Arts in Lithuania. She creates scarves as well as shawls using shibori and vegetative dyeing technology.

Inspired by nature, her works are 100% organic; using silk, wool and cotton, dyed by plants such as chamomile, oak bark, alnus glutinosa bark, birch leaves, milfoil and others. For this reason her colours are subdued and very subtle.
